Nouveau Imperialist
This documentary examines the ecological progression of the soil, vegetation and African Penguin population at Boulders Beach, Robben Island and Dassen Island off the Yserfontein coast around the Cape Peninsula on the southernmost tip of Africa. The nesting habits and the guano of African Penguins affect the land, vegetation and other species living within that vegetation, which was previously unoccupied by African Penguins. The broader question explored in this documentary is one that expands over philosophical, ethical and ecological disciplines. It is a question of what criteria are used to ascribe moral status to the life around us.

Paternoster explores the lives of three fishing families whose livelihood depends on fishing the Paternoster coastline, Stompneusbaai and surrounding areas. We are taken on a journey into the history of these families and learn about how their lives have evolved over three generations and more recently the impact of the quota system on their lives, against the background of fighting gentrification in their beautiful prime coastal land.

In the hill state of Himachal Pradesh, there are a number of tribes who have kept their traditions and their indigenous culture intact despite the bombardment of modern influences. The Gaddi tribe inhabit the Bharmaur and Chamba regions in the north of Himachal Pradesh while migrating annually during winters along with their flocks and returning to their homes in the summer. Their centuries old migratory tradition has given rise to certain tracks, which are nowadays used for trekking by adventure sports enthusiasts. This documentary looks at the adventure enthusiasts against a backdrop of the culture and treks of the Gaddi tribe.
